Kalmadi asks Gill to reschedule India-Australia cricket series
New Delhi: Will the dates for the India-Australia cricket series be changed? That's what Suresh Kalmadi has requested of Sports Minister MS Gill.

Kalmadi, who is the Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Commonwealth Games, has written to Gill pointing out that two Test matches (starting October 2 in Mohali and October 10 in Bangalore) clash with the Games, which start on October 3 in Delhi.

Kalmadi states that last year, he had asked Sharad Pawar and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to ensure that it does not schedule any major cricket matches during the Commonwealth Games. Since the BCCI ignored Kalmadi's request, he wants the Sports Minister to intervene.  (Read: Kalmadi's letter to Sports Minister)

Australia will play a three-day practice match and two Tests in Mohali and Bangalore, while the three ODIs will be played in Kochi, Goa and Vizag.

The two Tests coincides with the Commonwealth Games. The first Test starts from October 2-6, while the second Test will be played from October 10-14.

The ODIs will be played on October 19, 22 and 24 respectively in Kochi, Goa and Vizag.
