New Delhi:
Some of the legendary Indian sports persons, who have fetched glory for the country but are yet to get enough recognition, will be felicitated by media group Network 18 as part of 'Saluting Indian Sports Legends' initiative on September 24.
The recipients will be shortlisted from amongst those who have performed well in either Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, the Olympics or the World Championships or have set a new or broken an old trend in the world of sports.
This initiative of Network 18 is aimed at recognising their selfless contribution to Indian sports and for being India's sporting icons who have endured over generations.
The initiative adheres to a process of selection which has the Network 18 Editorial Board at its core. The board will shortlist the nominees and then deliberate to finalise the names keeping in mind their sterling contribution to Indian sports.
The Network 18 group consists of CNN-IBN, IBN7 and IBN-Lokmat.
