India's Leander Paes and his Zimbabwean partner Cara Black won the Wimbledon mixed doubles title on Sunday, beating Wesley Moodie of South Africa and Lisa Raymond of the US 6-4, 7-6 (7/5).
After several breaks of serve in the first set, doubles veterans Paes and Black eventually came out on top.
The second set went to a tie break, sealed by Paes with a backhand shot at the net to wrap up the match in an hour and 37 minutes on Centre Court.
Paes and Black both threw their racquets in the air before embracing at the net.
As per tradition, they received their trophies in the Royal Box from Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, Queen Elizabeth II's cousin and the president of the All England Club.
Paes and Black earned 92,000 pounds (140,000 dollars, 110,000 euros) to share, while Moodie and Raymond took away 46,000 pounds.
The final was played on Centre Court immediately after Rafael Nadal beat Tomas Berdych in the men's singles final.
Paes and Black were the runners-up here last year. They added the Wimbledon 2010 title to the 2008 US Open and the 2010 Australian Open crowns they have already won together.
The finalists had a slew of Wimbledon doubles titles between them.
Paes won the 1999 and 2003 mixed titles, and the 1999 men's doubles.
Black has previously won three Wimbledon ladies' doubles titles and one mixed.
Moodie won the 2005 men's doubles title here, while Raymond won the 2001 ladies' and 1999 mixed titles.
