New Delhi: The All India Football Federation's Players Status Committee on Wednesday declared Riston Rodrigues' contract with Mohun Bagan as invalid and cleared his transfer to East Bengal after imposing a Rs 10,000 fine on the midfielder.

"Transfer of Riston Rodrigues to Kingfisher East Bengal cleared. There is no valid contract signed between Riston Rodrigues and Mohun Bagan AC in terms of AIFF Regulations," the AIFF said in a statement.

"Riston Rodrigues ordered to refund the amount received from Mohun Bagan within seven days of receipt of this order through the AIFF, failing which he shall be placed under suspension until the amount is paid. Recommended that Riston Rodrigues be fined Rs.10,000 to be paid to AIFF, to the Disciplinary Committee," it added.

Besides, the committee -- chaired by Jose A Botelho and attended by SA Hameed, Dr Abdul Rehman and Advocate Debashish Banerjee -- also cleared seven pending cases of transfers after a meeting here today.

In another major decision, the committee ordered Mumbai FC to pay former India goalkeeper Kalyan Chaubey his dues. Chaubey had alleged that the club was not paying him despite a valid contract.

"Mumbai FC ordered to pay Kalyan Chaubey at the rate of Rs two lakh per month from April 1 to June 30 and at the rate of 2 lakhs 33 thousand from July 1 to July 27," the statement read.

"Disciplinary proceedings by Mumbai F C against Kalyan Chaubey deemed to have started on July 28. Kalyan Chaubey and Mumbai FC deemed to have a subsisting contract up to end of 2009-2010 season," it added.
