Chennai:
The Indian challenge in the singles draw is over in the Aircel Chennai Open. Somdev Devvarman lost his second round match in straight sets to Janko Tipsarevic. The Serbian who is ranked 88 places higher than the Indian overpowered Somdev to advance to the quarter-finals.
The match ended after an hour and 18 minutes with Tipsarevic hitting a great forehand winner to seal his place in the quarter-finals. The Serbian won the match 6-2, 6-1. It was a big disappointment for Somdev but he still has his chance in the doubles alongwith Sanam Singh.
