New Delhi:
Katerina Thanou, who came second behind dope-tainted Marion Jones in the 100m event at the Sydney Olympics in 2000, has been denied the 100m gold medal by the International Olympic Committee.
US athlete Jones was stripped of the long jump and 100m gold medals and faced sentence for lying to the investigators.
Thanou, who became the gold winner after Jones was denied the medals, faces a court case for allegedly making false statements to the police for avoiding a drug test at the 2004 Games.
