Wagah gears up for Queen's baton's arrival

Chandigarh: The arrangements to receive the Queen's Baton of this year's Commonwealth Games at the Wagah border on June 25 were discussed by the local administrative officials here.

Chairman of the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee Suresh Kalmadi will receive the baton coming from Pakistan and a postage stamp would be unveiled to mark the occasion, officials said.

The meeting at Wagah last evening was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Amritsar) K S Pannu, Commissioner of Police Varinder Kumar, Lt Gen SS Dhillon and CWG Officer on Special Duty Jagmohan Bhanot.
