Jammu: To review the ongoing relief and rehabilitation work after last year's devastating floods, Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra would be visiting Srinagar on January 17.
"Governor NN Vohra shall be visiting Srinagar on January 17 to undertake a full review of the implementation of all flood relief and rehabilitation work being done in the districts," a Raj Bhawan spokesman said.
He said that during his visit, the Governor shall meet with a number of Srinagar based organisations that had sent requests to meet him at Jammu.
The Governor had sought the report from the administration over the utilisation of the Rs 1,000 crore special assistance received from the central government for the repair and reconstruction of the infrastructure damaged during the devastating floods.
"The Governor has asked the Principal Secretary Planning and Development Department to urgently advise him about the action taken to utilise the Rs 1,000 crore special assistance received from the Centre for carrying out repair and reconstruction work of the state infrastructure which has been damaged or destroyed by the floods in September," the spokesman said.
