Srinagar: Masked gunmen today robbed a bank in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district in Jammu and Kashmir, decamping with several lakh rupees, a police official said.
He said while the bank officials were calculating the exact amount of cash robbed by the gunmen, the rough estimates put the amount at around Rs 5 lakh.
"Three to four gunmen barged into the Jammu and Kashmir Bank branch at Marhama in Bijbehara this afternoon and decamped with cash from the premises," the official said.
Several incidents of bank robberies have taken place in the Kashmir Valley over the past two years.
