Srinagar: Suspected militants fired at a CRPF patrol group on Wednesday morning, injuring seven personnel.
The incident took place near Shiraz Cinema in Khanyar area of the city when the 82nd Battalion were leaving their headquarters. The motorcycle-borne suspected militants fired on the patrol team and managed to flee the spot.
The injured have been shifted to SKIMS hospital at Soura. Three of them are stated to be in a critical condition.
A militant group called Islamic Front has claimed the responsibility of the attack. This group has carried such attacks in the past as well, but has been inactive in the recent past.
