Srinagar:
A man, arrested under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic substances (NDPS) Act last month, died at a hospital in Srinagar today, police said.
Mukhtar Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Dalipora village of Pulwama was lodged in judicial custody at Central Jail, Srinagar since January 27 under NDPS Act and was taken ill yesterday, a police spokesman said.
He said the detainee was immediately shifted by jail authorities to SMHS hospital where he breathed his last today.
"Medico-legal formalities of the deceased are being conducted," the spokesman said.
