Ahmedabad:
Hundreds of garba enthusiasts in Gujarat are a disappointed lot with heavy rains in several parts of the state playing a spoilsport.
Since last 12 hours, several parts of the state including Vadodara, Surat and Ahmedabad have witnessed heavy rains turning garba venues into a pool of water.
The biggest garba event in Ahmedabad, organised by the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat limited, faced uncertainty as the venue - GMDC ground- was inundated with water. With rains continuing, the organisers are finding it difficult to flush out water.
Not just Ahmedabad, several others cities including Surat and Vadodara have witnessed heavy rains. In Vadodara, one of the biggest garba events - the United Way of Vadodara Garba - was called off for the last two days since the venue was completely under water.
With more rains expected in the next 12 hours, more disappointment could be in store of garba lovers.
