Surat:
Four engineers were swept away during high tide at Suvali beach near Surat. All four of them were working with the construction company L&T.
The car driver, Amit Tiwari who was also with them was however rescued by some people. Officials said that four engineers Manoj Sharma, Sagar, Sandeep Kumar and Yogendra Kumar had left their hotel in Hajira for a Sunday fun trip to the beach.
Officials claim that despite being warned by the people at the beach about the high tide, the four ventured into the danger zone only to be swept away.
A search has been launched to locate the bodies of the engineers.
In the past, few cases of drowning on that beach have been reported by the locals who allege that officials have failed to initiate any safety measures or monitoring.
