Chennai:
At least 13 passengers including five women were killed and 32 others were injured after a bus they were travelling in collided with a truck in Tamil Nadu's Madurai district today.
The government-run bus was travelling from Tirunelvelli to Kumuzhi when the it collided with a truck carrying cement bags at T Kallupatti in Madurai.
Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has announced a compensation of rupees one lakh for the families of those who died and rupees 5,000 for the injured passengers.
Investigations into the case are still on.
