Chennai: Police, which is investigating the accident, suspect that the driver might have lost control due to brake failure.
Three people, including a class four student, died after a school van carrying 10 children plunged into a canal at Vengode in Tamil Nadu's Kanyakumari district today.
Nine other children in the van received injuries in the accident. The van belongs to the SGS Memorial Public Matriculation School.
Those dead include the van driver and an elderly woman who was bathing in the canal.
