Chennai: Four coaches of the Chennai Egmore-Mangalore Express derailed in Cuddalore district of Tamil Nadu early this morning, leaving at least 39 people injured.
The injured were moved to a nearby hospital. Of them, three are still hospitalized; others were discharged after administering first aid.
The accident happened around 2:30 am. The train has now proceeded towards its destination but rescue work is still on to remove the derailed coaches from tracks.
Chennai-bound trains from southern Tamil Nadu have been diverted due to the accident.
