Seven Indian fishermen were arrested by Sri Lankan naval personnel off Katchathivu islet today for allegedly crossing the International Maritime Boundary Line and fishing in their waters.
Joint Director of Fisheries (Nagapattinam), Subburaj said the naval personnel surrounded their boat near Paruthiturai, seized their GRPS equipment and fishing net.
The fishermen from Tamil Nadu were later taken to Kankesanthurai in the island nation, he said.
