Chennai:
An eight-month-old baby was found murdered after alleged sexual abuse at Pollachi in Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu. Police are on the lookout for the suspect, a neighbour.
The parents, both migrant labourers in a mill were away at around 5 pm on Thursday evening, when the 22-year-old neighbour allegedly committed the crime in a godown. The infant was found dead in a pool of blood, police said.
Investigators have registered a case under the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Doctors will perform medical examination and post-mortem of the infant's body at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital today.
