AIADMK today mocked Vijayakanth-led DMDK for announcing 'portfolios' of its electoral partners if it won the May 16 Assembly elections, saying such a situation would not arise.
In a brief sarcastic write-up with a caricature, AIADMK mouthpiece Dr Namadhu MGR sought to compare the DMDK-PWF alliance and the DMDK leader LK Sudheesh's announcement to a popular comedy in a Tamil movie "Oorai Therinchukitten," that would end up in disappointment to an auctioneer.
On March 29, Mr Sudheesh had said in Kovilpatti that the leaders of People's Welfare Front (PWF) including MDMK chief Vaiko, state secretaries of CPI(M) and CPI G Ramakrishnan, and R Mutharasan respectively and VCK chief Thol Thirumavalavan, would be part of "Vijayakanth's Cabinet".
He also mentioned the portfolios that would be allocated to them if their Front won.
"In 2014, Sudheesh claimed to become a Union Minister while fighting polls in Salem," the AIADMK daily claimed, adding he did not win the election.
"Now, you see, he has announced the Cabinet (composition) itself in a public meeting, tell us now, does not the memes and trolls by social media users against them (DMDK and its allies) have meaning," the write-up said.
By using a phrase that denoted disappointment from the comedy scene, the paper said the DMDK-PWF alliance too would face such a situation.
While MDMK chief Vaiko declined the offer, the CPI(M) said such things could be discussed only after winning the polls.
