Puducherry: Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister V Narayanasamy today hit out at Puducherry's ruling AINRC government for 'failing' to implement many of its promises made since 2011.
Mr Narayanasamy, who is also AICC General Secretary, alleged that these promises remained on paper and were just repeated every year in successive budgets, taking people for a ride.
One wondered whether the budget to be presented on April 22 for the 2015-16 fiscal would also go the same way, he said in a statement.
He demanded to know why no steps had been taken to persuade the Centre to earmark adequate funds for Puducherry.
Major Public Sector Undertakings like AFT mills had been closed, leaving the economy of the Union Territory in 'utter disarray.' Farmers had also been left in the lurch wihout specific programmes to boost production, he said.
