Puducherry station of All India Radio (AIR) today commissioned a state of art new 10 Kilo Volt transmitter installed at a cost of Rs 2.25 crores.
The transmitter of Frequency Modulation channel would provide superior quality of broadcast of its programme, a release said.
The transmitter would help the channel expand its reach over a radius of 80 kilometres covering listeners in Puducherry and neighbouring Tamil Nadu districts of Cuddalore, Villupuram and Tiruvannamalai, the release said.
