Chennai: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence claimed to have seized six kilogrammes ofbanned drug ephedrine and arrested three persons in this connection.
The value of the seized ephedrine has been pegged at Rs 1.2 crore.
The trio were nabbed at the central railway station from a Delhi-bound train, a DRI official said,adding a search of the suitcases revealed the drug hidden inside.
They had planned to take a flight to Malaysia with the substance, but decided to travel by train when they foundtight security at the airport, he said.
Ephedrine is banned under the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
