Rameswaram: Red sander logs worth Rs 1 crore were today seized and three persons arrested for attempting to smuggle the endangered wood to Sri Lanka, police said.
The trio was arrested from Mandapam near here when they were waiting for a boat to smuggle the logs, they said. Cartoons were painted on the logs to conceal the wood, the export of which is banned in India, police said.
