Puducherry:
Puducherry Government hasannounced a cash assistance of Rs 50,000 to differently abledpersons getting married.
The aim of the scheme was to enable the differently abledcouple lead a smooth life after marriage.
While Rs 20,000 would be given as gift to the couple forpurchase of household materials, remaining Rs 30,000 would bein the form of National Small Savings Certificate in the jointnames of the husband and wife and would be deposited in sixyear term deposit.
A communication from the Welfare department said similarassistance would also be available for marriage of differentlyabled person with a normal person.
The couples should be residents of Puducherry to becomeeligible for the assistance which would be sanctioned onproduction of marriage certificate issued bycompetent authority.
