A class 10 student died at her home after an LPG cylinder exploded early on Monday morning in Tamil Nadu's Dindigul district.
The accident happened at 5:30 am, when 15-year-old Kaaviya lit the stove to make coffee. Her elder brother, who came to rescue her also suffered burn injuries.
Local police suspect that a leak in the cylinder may have led to the explosion.
"We suspect its a case of gas leak, We are currently investigating," said Inspector Ulaganathan.
Kaaviya was an orphan. She lived with her grandparents in Natham village, police said.
