A court in Coimbatore on Tuesday awarded a double death sentence and two terms of life imprisonment to a 34-year-old man for murdering his former landlady and her two children, including a 11 month son, in June last year.
The court held A Senthil, who is originally from Manamadurai, guilty of the triple murder awarded two capital punishments - one each for the murder of the children - and life imprisonment for killing the woman.
He was sentenced to another life imprisonment for trespassing into the house. The judge also imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 each for the murders and failure to pay it would attract six months' rigorous imprisonment. Life sentences would run concurrently.
Mr Senthil was asked to vacate the house because he would often quarrel with the residents.
