Chennai: DMK chief and former Tamil Nadu chief Minister M Karunanidhi on Saturday nominated party's spokesperson TKS Elangovan and organising secretary RS Barathi to the Rajya Sabha.
Six Rajya Sabha seats from Tamil Nadu would fall vacant soon for which elections would be held on June 11.
The DMK alliance would be able to elect two members after it won 98 seats in the just concluded Assembly elections.
DMK's ally the Congress which won just 8 seats from the 41 it contested has not been given any Rajya Sabha nomination from Tamil Nadu.
The ruling AIADMK is expected to announce its four candidates soon.
