DMK announced J JawaharSuryakumar as its party's nominee for the March 18Sanakarankoil (SC) byelection to the assembly.
Suryakumar's candidature was announced by party chief MKaruanidhi at the end of the interview with ticket aspirantsheld at DMK headquarters Anna Arivalayam here, the party said.
Ruling AIADMK has already fielded V Muthuselvi as the partycandidate for the bypoll, which was necessitated following thedeath of Minister C Karuppasamy last year.
