Chennai: An FIR was today registered against DMK leader M K Stalin, his son Udhayanidhi and four others for allegedly threatening a person to sell his property at a prime locality at a lesser price.
The FIR followed a complaint by one N S Kumar on November 29 alleging that one of Stalin's aides had forced him to sell his property at Chittaranjan Das Road at Teynampet area after getting the tenants to vacate it under threat, police said.
Police said the complainant informed that he was forced to sell the property for a lesser price of Rs 5.54 crore but did not quantify what the market value was.
Acting on the complaint, Central Crime Branch registered a case against Stalin, Udhayanidhi, P Venugopalreddy, Raja Shankar, Subbareddy and Srinivas under various IPC sections including 120 B (punishment of criminal conspiracy) and 506 (criminal intimidation), they said.
Denying the charges, Stalin said, "The FIR against me is a Fraud Information Report. I will face it legally without seeking adjournment."
Stalin is the son of former Tamil Nadu chief minister and DMK supremo M Karunanidhi. He is also a former deputy chief minister of the state.
