Tuticorin:
At loggerheads over fishing territory, Tuticorin fishermen have seized two Kanyakumari mechanised boats for allegedly trespassing into their area, officials said today.
K.Selvan, Assistant Director,Fishing Harbour Management, said the fishermen seized the boats 15 nautical miles off Tuticorin coast yesterday.
The seized boats with 21 fishermen had not been released, officials said.
Tuticorin Mechanized Boat Owners'Association secretary K Anthonyappa condemned the attitude of Kanyakumari fishermen who reportedly stayed at sea overnight for fishing and ventured into their territory.
