Five persons were arrested here today in connection with a robbery and valuables worth lakhs of rupees were recovered from them, police said.
The accused were allegedly involved in a daylight robbery on Monday at Shanthi Nagar in Hosur, where they robbed a 72-year-old woman at knife point and decamped with 35 sovereigns of gold jewels, police said.
They had deceived Nagarathinam, the woman, by posing as employees of a courier service company.
They were arrested today when police intercepted their car near Onnalvadi village and recovered 35 sovereigns of gold jewels and a camera worth Rs 12 lakh.
