Coimbatore:

Seeking to attract the attention of the AIADMK Government, students of Forest College and Research Institute (FCRI) at nearby Mettupalayam, today held photographs of the party supremo Jayalalithaa during their 28-day long agitation pressing their twin demands.

The students, who had withdrawn their five-day fast yesterday, were seen holding large size photographs of Jayalalithaa, in view of her birthday falling tomorrow and get their demands fulfilled.

Some of the students said that they expected the former chief minister to intervene and put an end to their month-long agony.

The students are demanding 100 per cent reservation for the post of rangers and quota in the appointment of foresters for forestry graduates and their representatives recently met state Agriculture and Forest Ministers in Chennai.

Though Tamil Nadu Agricultural University Vice-Chancellor, K Ramasamy asked them to withdraw their sit-in dharna and go to classes to pave way for negotiation, the students refused to accept the offer.
