Unidentified persons hurled a gelatine stick at a house where a newly married couplewere staying but they escaped injury as it exploded in an adjacent room, police said.
Police said both were software engineers and working in Bangalore. They were working in the same company, and hadfallen in love.
As their parents were reportedly against their marrying, they got married at the sub-registrar's office.
They were staying with the bride's parents when the gelatine stick was hurled.
Police have registered a case under provisions of the Explosives Substance Act and IPC section 307 (attempt to murder).
