Kumbakonam: Tamil Maanila Congress (TMC) today urged the Election Commission to take necessary action against "distribution of cash to voters" by some political parties and ensure that fair polls were held in Tamil Nadu.
Accusing AIADMK and DMK of indulging in distribution of money to voters to woo them for May 16 Assembly polls, TMC chief GK Vasan said, "These two parties are giving money as they feared they would be defeated."
"People should ignore them and vote for a change. They should elect the People's Welfare Front," he said.
The PWF comprises of DMDK, MDMK, CPI(M), CPI, VCK and TMC. He claimed that the AIADMK and DMK had also offered freebies in the manifesto to woo the voters.
He expressed confidence that PWF would get majority with 150 seats in the election and form the government.
