Salem:
Four persons were killed and 15 injured when a van and bus collided about 50 km from Salem today.
Police said the van was carrying 18 devotees to Muniappan Temple at Perambalur, over 200 km from Salem, when it collided with the private bus at Valapadi bridge around 3.45 am.
Four devotees, including a woman and her seven-year-old son, died and 14 others in the van were injured, police said, adding, a bus passenger was also injured.
The bus was carrying government employees who were returning after attending a conference at Chennai.
The injured have been admitted to the government hospital in Salem.
