Chennai: Days after taking office as Tamil Nadu chief minister for the fourth term, J Jayalalithaa today inducted four more ministers, taking the tally to 32.
G Baskaran, Sevvoor S Ramachandran, Dr Nilofer Kabil and P Balaikrishna Reddy were sworn-in by Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah at the Raj Bhawan in Chennai.
Dr Nilofer Kabil's appointment as minister of labour is being viewed as response to demands made by Muslim outfits for a face in the state Cabinet.
Mr Baskaran is minister for Khadi and Village Industries Board while Mr Ramachandran has been allotted Hindu religious and charitable endowments.
Nilofer Kabil is labour minister, while Balakrishna Reddy will be handling the animal husbandry portfolio.
Earlier this week, Ms Jayalalithaa led her party AIADMK to a second five-year term, winning 134 of the 232 Assembly seats.
Her Cabinet has twelve former ministers and thirteen new faces.
Ms Jayalalithaa began her second innings as chief minister by taking an array of measures, including shutting down over 500 government owner liquor shops and waivers on farm loans.
The 68-year-old AIADMK chief - referred to as 'Amma' by her supporters - has also promised to provide 100 units of free power to every household.
