Chennai: The judicial fraternity will donate their one day's salary towards cyclone Thane relief and rehabilitation work in Tamil Nadu and Puduchery.
Madras High Court Chief Justice M Y Eqbal made the announcement following consultations with Judges, judicial officers and staff of state judiciary, a release from the Registrar General said.
It has been decided to donate 70 per cent of the members' one day salary towards Chief Minister's Relief Fund of Tamil Nadu and 30 per cent to that of Puduchery, the relese said.
Thane cyclone had severely damaged Cuddalore and Villupuram districts in the state besides the nearby Puduchery.
