Chennai:
Supply of Liquefied Petroleum Gas cylinders to households and commercial establishments are likely to be hit in three southern states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka with owners of over 4,000 Liquefied Petroleum Gas tankers launching an "indefinite strike" in support of their demands.
The strike, which began midnight yesterday, has been called by the Southern Region Liquefied Petroleum Gas Tanker Lorry Transport Owners Association after their talks with oil marketing companies failed.
Their demands include renewal of tenders by the oil marketing companies.
The strike is likely to affect the supply of Liquefied Petroleum Gas during the Pongal festivities in Tamil Nadu this weekend.
