Madurai: A man has been arrested for attempting to rob a jewellery shop here after threatening employees and customers with a fake gun.
Police said the man brandished his 'gun' and threatened frightened employees to part with jewels and cash yesterday.
However some of them managed to inform police who rushed to the spot, overpowered him and seized the gun, which was found fake.
The man was a salesman in a motorbike showroom and had stolen a bike, they said.
