MDMK leader Vaiko said the four party Front's promise of a transparent, corruption free and liquor-free state has struck a chord with the people.
Madurai:
The coming assembly elections in Tamil Nadu would see the People's Welfare Front (PWF) combine come to power as the people were 'disgusted' with AIADMK and DMK and were looking for an alternative, MDMK leader Vaiko said in Madurai today.
"The next state government in Tamil Nadu would be a coalition government by Makkal Nala Kootani (People's Welfare Front). The people are disgusted with DMK and AIADMK, and the alternative they are looking for is their Front," he told reporters.
After the next elections, the 'so-called' main political parties would realise the importance and strength of the Front, which would emerge as a big power, he said.
Mr Vaiko said the four party Front's promise of a transparent, corruption free and liquor-free state has struck a chord with the people.
He alleged that a section of the media was constantly spreading wrong information to make it seem as if the Front had differences, when the fact was that they were sincerely working towards a Common Minimum Programme and had staged agitations against liquor shops and various other issues.
Mr Vaiko was in Madurai to attend a meeting of Party functionaries of eight districts.
Besides MDMK, the Front comprises the two Left parties and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi.
