Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University today informed Madras High Court it has directed examination centres to install mobile phone jammers and metal detectors in view of instances of some MBBS students allegedly using mobile phones for copying earlier this year.
The submission was made by the university's counsel Narmadha Sampath when a petition seeking a direction to the university to publish the result of a final year MBBS student came up came up for hearing. Vigilance squads have been appointed in all medical colleges from April this year.
Petitioner, S Arif Mohammed, contened that he was not aware of the reason for his result being withheld there by delaying his internship.
In view of prima facie material available and information received, the results of 10 candidates had been withheld.
