Tamil Nadu government today sanctioned purchase of a laptop or a personal computer with internet connection for all Members of Legislative Assembly from their Constituency Development Fund.
Members of Legislative Assembly can purchase a laptop or a personal computer, along with a printer and broadband internet connection once from the "unspecified funds" of Rs 87.50 lakh of the total Constituency Development Fund of Rs 2 crore for the year 2011-12, an official release said.
An announcement in this regard was earlier made during the Assembly session in August last year. The government has also hiked the Constituency Development Fund from Rs 1.75 crore to Rs 2 crore per constituency from this year.
