Chennai: Poor visibility and rains affected movement of flights at the airport in Chennai today, with two being diverted to Bengaluru.

Airport officials said a Sri Lankan Airways flight from Colombo and a Qatar Airways flight from Dubai, carrying 67 and 294 passengers respectively, were diverted to Bengaluru following poor visibility in Chennai.

The flights later landed in Chennai after visibility improved. An Indigo Airlines flight that left for Coimbatore in the morning returned due to heavy rain there.

It later left for its destination after a three-hour delay, the officials added.
