Madurai:
Six persons have been arrested for allegedly attempting to sell the prime property of the localroyal family by forging documents, police said.
Police said Saptur Jameen was in custody of the bungalow purchased in 1923 and had been paying property tax and othertaxes regularly.
They said the six persons made fake documents making it look like the property was got directly by one Krishnan Nairfrom the District collector in 1920s and tried to sell it, claiming to be his heirs.
One of his descendants, who suspected foul play, informed the police, who launched investigations and arrested the six.
Police said the property is estimated to be worth several crores of Rupees.
