Solving 111 Rubik's Cubes On Bicycle, Physics Student Shoots For Guinness

Vellore: In a bid to set a new Guinness World Record, a post graduate student in Tamil Nadu's Vellore district has solved 111 Rubik's Cubes while cycling for 123 minutes.

Winfred Michael Raj performed this on a 70-metre track.

The 21-year-old is currently studying for his masters degree in Medical Physics at the Christian Medical College, Vellore.

"I was almost dehydrated. I took water for every five solves. I can't move my legs now. When I was a little boy my father used to tell about the Guinness World Records and I can't believe I'm attempting one."
 
Officials from Guinness had set tough conditions. According to them, he shouldn't dismount from the cycle till completion, nor could he rest his foot on the ground.

The Primary Witness for the challenge Vivek Prasad Mada said, "It's a first of its kind attempt. He completed completed the task with all conditions. If everything goes well, he should get the Guinness certificate in a month."

Winfred had used 45 cubes for the session. For the feat, there were also three 'scramblers' on standby whose task was to scramble the cubes according to patterns generated by a special software designed by the World Cube Association.

In 2014, Winfred had entered the India Book of Records for solving 66 cubes in one hour.
