Erode: The Tamil Maanila Congress (TMC), which launched a signature campaign in September demanding total prohibition in the state, will hand over about one crore signatures from the public to Goveror K Rosaiah on October 29, TMC president GK Vasan has said.
TMC will appeal to the governor for favouring total prohibition in the state, he told reporters in Erode yesterday.
On frequent arrests of Tamil Nadu fishermen by Sri Lankan Navy, Mr Vasan wanted the Centre and State government to take steps for finding a permanent solution to the issue.
He conducted a tour of Vellode, Chennimalai and Perundurai areas, interacted with agricultural labourers, weavers and public and heard their grievances.
