Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa today expressed grief over the death of seven persons killed in flash floods at Virudhunagar district last week, and announced a compensation of Rs 1 lakh each to the families of the victims.
"I extend my deep sympathies and condolences to those who were killed in the floods," she said in a statement.
The relief will be paid from the Chief Minister's General Relief fund, she added.
