Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar today claimed that the people of Tamil Nadu are waiting for change and a corruption free government and BJP is getting good support for the May 16 Assembly polls.
"People of Tamil Nadu want a change and corruption free government. Both Dravidian parties have not been able to provide good governance to the people in the last 50 years," Mr Javadekar told reporters at the city airport in Coimbatore.
"Considering this, BJP was getting good response and very good support, as people repose faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government," he said, adding Tamil Nadu deserves "much better governance."

On the vexed Tamil fishermen issue, Mr Javadekar, who is also in-charge of Tamil Nadu for polls, said NDA government "is pro-active in protecting fishermen and also the interests of Sri Lankan Tamils."
PM Modi had visited Jaffna in Sri Lanka and taken initiative to solve the issues faced by the Tamils there.
"The Prime Minister ensured the release of Tamil fishermen who were to be hanged. Several Tamils, who were given capital punishment, when UPA was in power (at the Centre), were also freed," he said.
Mr Javadekar reiterated his allegations against AIADMK government that Tamil Nadu was the only state that had not accepted the UDAY power scheme, by which 20 States, including the non-BJP ruled states, benefitted.
"The people of Tamil Nadu are not getting the benefit," he said.
Mr Javadekar was here to address a few election meetings in the city and will visit Erode tomorrow and Chennai on Sunday.
