Two of Tamil Nadu most powerful leaders from state's parties AIADMK and DMK, Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and M Karunanidhi filed their nominations this afternoon for the May 16 Assembly election.
The 68-year-old Jayalalithaa, who is also the General Secretary of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam or AIADMK, filed her nomination from R K Nagar constituency in Chennai. She is a sitting MLA of the constituency.
The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Party or DMK veteran and former five time Chief Minister, M Karunanidhi file his nomination from Tiruvarur constituency. The 93-year-old DMK supremo has so far won in all the assembly elections he has contested since his debut at Kulithalai in 1957
