Chennai: Setting the ball rolling for its flagship Global Investor's Meet scheduled to be held in May this year, the Tamil Nadu government would conduct a curtain raiser event this week.
Chief Minister O Panneerselvam would preside over the meet on February 14 which would also see top industrialists participating, an official release in Chennai said.
According to industry sources, about Rs 15,000 crore worth of memorandum of understanding with several companies is likely to be signed on that day.
The objective of the Global Investor's Meet, scheduled to be held on May 23 and 24, is to achieve the investment target set in Vision Tamil Nadu 2023 document, released by former chief minister and AIADMK Chief Jayalalithaa in March 2012.
The two-day event would also focus on promoting the brand image of the state and also towards making Tamil Nadu as one of the top three manufacturing hubs in Asia, the release said.
